Your road to becoming an Approved Driving Instructor In 3 steps...
Qualifying ExaminationThe Qualifying Examination is in three parts: Part 1: ADI Theory Test - Consist of a multiple choice section and a video based hazard perception section. The test for prospective driving instructor's calls for a higher standard of knowledge then that expected for a learner driver. The test is carried out in two parts; a multiple choice section and a hazard perception part, which are taken at the same sitting. Part 2: Driving Ability - Consist of an eyesight test following by a practical test of driving technique. This part will consist of an eyesight test and a test of your ability to drive to a very high standard. It will prove whether or not you have a thorough understanding of good safe driving techniques, and that you can also demonstrate them, you are limited to three attempts. Once you have passed, you will also be offered a trainee licence application form. A trainee licence can help you gain experience in giving instruction to puplis to drive. Part 3: Ability to instruct - Consist of a practical test of the ability to instruct. This task measures your ability to give effective instructions at different levels and is generally considered the most difficult of the three qualifying test. Make sure you are well prepared before attempting the test. Remember, you are limited to three attempts. |
